Steven Bartlett has secured historic funding for the creator economy.
Bartlett, who has remained on an entrepreneurial path since dropping out of college and becoming a millionaire by 23, as AFROTECH™ previously told you, has scored an eight-figure investment for his creator company Steven.com. The company houses several divisions such as FlightStory, FlightFund, and, more recently, FlightCast, an AI-powered podcast hosting platform, as mentioned in a news release.
“Steven.com is the creator holding company built to help high-potential creators grow their audience, build IP, commercialise their work, launch ventures, and provides the technology to power it all ... If you’re an aspiring creator please do get in touch,” he explained on Instagram.
Slow Ventures and Apeiron Investment Group led Steven.com’s round. Philipp Freise (KKR), Second Sight Ventures, Tom Profumo (Active Partners), Magnus Grimeland (Antler), Gary Vaynerchuk, Kevin Rose (founder of Digg), Will Ahmed (Founder of Whoop), Bryan Johnson, Alex Hormozi, and Codie Sanchez also participated in the round, which brings the company’s total valuation to $425 million.
The round also reportedly makes history as the most significant funding for a European creator holding company, per the release.
“By bringing together creator IP, capital and our infrastructure, Steven.com is positioning itself to lead in the next era of the creator economy,” Bartlett said in a press release.
“My ultimate ambition is to build the Disney of the creator economy – and the strategic partners this funding round has brought on board has enabled me to take a big step in that direction,” he continued.
In the Instagram post, Bartlett reflected that a $100 investment in a mic changed his life. He purchased the mic back in 2017, and this led to the inception of “The Diary Of A CEO,” which has more than 13 million subscribers (at the time of this writing), 70 million monthly views/downloads, and over 1 billion views on YouTube, according to the news release.
“It’s absolutely crazy how much that $100 microphone changed my life … and now we’re building the platform to help creators everywhere do the same,” he wrote on the Instagram post.
With a strong following and significant backing, he is well-positioned to continue his efforts in helping other creators forge their own success stories.
“The Creator is the new franchise. Our mission is to turn individual creators into global brands with the same scale and impact as Disney — but in the modern internet era,” Bartlett expressed on X.
